1. In our lead story today, Órla Ryan reports that children who experience psychosis are struggling to access vital services despite repeated efforts by their parents and staff who work in the health system.

The lack of a centralised system for child referrals to different HSE services means children and adolescents with complex needs often struggle to get access to treatment due to confusion over which health team is best placed to intervene.

Trump Trial

4. Donald Trump will return to a New York courtroom today as a judge works to find a panel of jurors who will decide whether the former president is guilty of criminal charges alleging he falsified business records to cover up a sex scandal during the 2016 campaign.

The first day of Trump’s history-making trial in Manhattan ended with no one yet chosen to be on the panel of 12 jurors and six alternates.

Sydney Stabbing

5. Australian police say  a knife attack in Sydney that wounded a bishop and a priest during a church service as horrified worshippers watched online and in person was an act of terrorism.

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy after the stabbing at Christ the Good Shepherd Church that injured bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel and a priest. Both are expected to survive.

6. A one-year extension to the lease at Citywest is set to be approved by Cabinet today.

7. The Defence Forces will see the number of troops it has deployed to south Lebanon increase by 33.

8. A man in his 40s has been charged in relation to the discovery of a body in Co Kildare.

9. A huge fire Tuesday at Copenhagen’s 17th century former stock exchange toppled the historic building’s landmark spire which was undergoing renovation, AFP reports.
