Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts; the person snores loudly; and feels tired during the day even after a full night's sleep. If left untreated, it can result in a number of health problems including chronic fatigue, hypertension, vascular and heart diseases. Sleep apnea can also worsen some conditions like diabetes and obesity.
If left untreated, the effects of sleep apnea can get worse. Sleep apnea can increase the risk of hypertension, diabetes, heart attack, heart failure, metabolic disease, abnormal heartbeats, such as atrial fibrillation.
Untreated sleep apnea will predispose you to severe health problems such as stroke, high blood pressure, heart failure, heart attacks and irregular heart beats.
