Over time, untreated and frequent episodes of supraventricular tachycardia may weaken the heart. Lead to heart failure. Particularly if there are other coexisting medical conditions. In extreme cases, an episode of supraventricular tachycardia may cause unconsciousness or cardiac arrest.
