Meningitis is a serious condition leading to a plethora of complications. It can cause seizures, cranial nerve palsies. It can also lead to cerebral edema and nonobstructive hydrocephalus. It can also cause a stroke. Systemically, it can lead to disseminated intravascular coagulation and multiple organ failure.
